Free School Bids

Our Government has made money available to build new Free Schools; bids were invited with a March 2016 deadline and there is a second deadline for new bids in September.

The Local Authority is keen for schools/organisations/ individuals to put in a bid and make use of this extra funding. We are currently running a survey to identify where the parent carers of children & young people with ASD would want a new school and what sort of curriculum and support they would want (specifically ASD as we know there are growing numbers of children with ASD in Surrey and a shortfall of specialist places).

You can complete the survey here. Each week we will share the results of the survey on this page, so do check back to see how the response is building. NB. our role as an organisation is not to back any one bid over another but to help identify the need, let families know of any opportunities to be involved and to influence the bids that are submitted.

I have real a lot about this, and it seems to be a real issue to collect the money for such a cause. Let’s fight it together!
